14 WEEK INTERVIEW

How far along?
14 weeks and 5 days as of today! I'm officially in the second trimester! (:

Baby's size?
Baby is the size of a lemon! 3.42 inches and 1.52 ounces. Baby nearly doubled in weight since last week!

Days until next doc appointment?
Not sure, actually! Being my usual "worried about everything" self, I tend to overcomplicate things and make a bigger mess out of things than necessary. Sooo...right now I'm working on getting appointments switched around. I know when all my other appointments are though! (:

How was your last appointment?
It was great! It was our first time meeting our OB. And she is awesome! She is so friendly and made it feel like we had known her forever. She answered all of my questions (which, ahem, is saying a lot) and told us that things are looking great! Currently this is a low-risk pregnancy and I am thankful for that! She said I'm right on track with my size for how far along I am. AND we got to hear the baby's heartbeat! (: That was a first for us too! 152 beats per minute (: Our little champion! Haha (: Then I went to the lab to get blood drawn and afterward we got a schedule of all our upcoming appointments for the entire pregnancy. Which if you know me, is like receiving a really awesome Christmas present. The schedule part. Not the getting blood drawn part. We've heard so many great things about this doctor and we're so glad to have found her! (:

Total weight gain?
1.6 pounds

Maternity clothes?
Still just hanging out in pajamas all day. It's a dream come true, really!

Stretch marks?
Nope!

Sleep:
This is getting more interesting as time goes on. I still sleep with enough pillows to sink a naval ship, but sleep now offers the added bonus of "leg falling asleep in the middle of the night syndrome". This is where, when waking in the middle of the night, one leg has entirely fallen asleep so much so that you have to use your arms to drag the weight of your leg to switch to sleeping on your other side.

Repeat.

Best moment this week:
Passing out at the doctor's office.
It's a funny story. I had told Jason how having blood drawn has made me come pretty close to passing out in the past. I don't think he believed me. He told me it was an "all in your head" thing since it's not like they take lots of blood or anything. I had never actually passed out before, so maybe he was right. So from start to finish of having my blood drawn, I didn't look. And I was feeling fine. But then I started to get dizzy even though I hadn't looked. As I was sitting there, it just kept getting worse. I focused on getting through the dizzy feeling the same way I've had to "get through" the nauseous feeling so many times in the past several weeks. You know, self talk and all that. "I'm a champion", and whatnot.

The guy who drew my blood then began asking me how I was feeling. "A little dizzy", I said, with a little laugh. Then he asked me again how I was feeling. I thought, "Uh....I just answered you, why are you asking me again?". "Dizzy", I said. This time it probably sounded just as dizzy as I felt.

Next thing I know, I was in in outer space with Michael Jordan, Bugs Bunny, and all the characters from Space Jam. Yeah, that Space Jam. After what felt like the length of a dream, but was really more like 10 seconds, I opened my eyes to see four nurses hovering above me, calmly encouraging me to wake up and telling me I had passed out. Jason said I had a very distinct, "Who are you people and where am I?" look on my face. Here I am one second unknowingly unconscious, spending time with cartoon characters in outer space. And ten seconds later there's a bunch of people looming over me, when I'm here just trying to catch some sleep in my cozy bed at home. Or so I thought. I really had no idea where I was.
They got a stretcher for me to lay out on and the first barely-conscious thing I said to Jason was, "I told you I pass out."

I think he believed me after that.

Movement:
Haven't had any yet!

Food cravings:
Juice! All I want is juice. and bagels. nothing complicated.

Anything make you queasy or sick?
Stuff with too many ingredients and flavors and textures going on at once.
Also, when people talk about food. At all. I don't want to know.

Have you started to show yet?
A bit, yes!  I still think if you didn't know I was pregnant that you wouldn't know by looking at me. Like maybe I just look a little chubby. But I really have no idea how people see me haha

Missing anything?
I miss sleeping on my stomach :(

Gender:
We don't know yet!

Labor signs?
Nope!

Belly button:
Still there.

Wedding rings on or off?
On! Haven't had any swelling yet.

Happy or moody most of the time?
Happy most of the time! I tend to get moody a little more easily when I'm stressed. But still, mostly happy over here!(:

Weekly symptoms:
Nausea, throwing up, headaches, food aversions, food cravings, fatigue, pelvic pain

Looking forward to:
My next appointment!
